How to Use Codebreaker 101 Patched Elf to Load Custom Codes and ELFs on PS2

Codebreaker is a popular cheat device for PlayStation 2 that allows users to apply codes to modify games in various ways. However, the original Codebreaker discs have some limitations, such as requiring a modchip or a swap trick to run, and not being able to load custom codes or ELF files from other sources.

Fortunately, some hackers have modified the Codebreaker ELF file to overcome these limitations and add new features. One of these modified versions is Codebreaker 101 Patched Elf, which is based on Codebreaker v9.2 and has the following enhancements:

  • It can run on any PS2 without a modchip or a swap trick.

  • It can load any ELF file from the hard drive, USB drive or memory card instead of launching the disc.

  • It can load unsigned .cbc files that contain custom codes from the internet or created by users.

  • It can access Day1 files and game saves from gamehacking.org server.

  • It can connect to IRC channels hosted by maxevo.net for chat and code sharing.

In this article, we will show you how to use Codebreaker 101 Patched Elf to load custom codes and ELFs on your PS2. You will need the following items:

  • A PS2 console with a network adapter and a hard drive (optional).

  • A USB drive or a memory card.

  • A PC with an internet connection.

  • The Codebreaker 101 Patched Elf file (available from here).

  • The ELF file or the .cbc file that you want to load (available from various sources online).

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Download the Codebreaker 101 Patched Elf file and extract it to your PC.

  • Copy the CBv92_GH_DAY1_ELFLDR.ELF file to your USB drive or memory card.

  • Copy the ELF file or the .cbc file that you want to load to your USB drive or memory card. Make sure they are named as CB_launch.elf or CB_launch.cbc respectively.

  • Insert your USB drive or memory card into your PS2.

  • Launch any game that supports online play (such as SOCOM) and go to the network settings menu.

  • Select your network adapter and press X. You should see a message saying "Loading Codebreaker..." followed by the Codebreaker main menu.

  • If you want to load an ELF file, select "Start Game" and press X. The ELF file will be loaded automatically.

  • If you want to load a .cbc file, select "Select Cheats" and press X. You should see a list of games that match your .cbc file. Select the game that you want to apply codes to and press X. You should see a list of codes that are available for that game. Select the codes that you want to activate and press O. Then select "Start Game" and press X. The game will be loaded with the codes applied.
